Action Canada and the Public Policy Forum are proud to announce the 2021/2022 Action Canada Fellows.
The Action Canada Fellowship is Canada’s top accelerator of policy leaders that aims to enhance emerging leaders’ understanding of the country and public policy choices for the future.
Over the course of the next 10 months, the Action Canada Fellows will explore Canada’s immigration history and develop ideas for change and renewal by (safely!) visiting communities across Canada.
“An Action Canada Fellowship is an investment that produces lifelong dividends,” says PPF’s President and CEO Edward Greenspon. “Fellows apply their leadership and policy training to the public interest for decades to come. And they become members of an Action Canada community that never ceases working for a better society.”
“This new cohort of Fellows from across Canada is starting this unique potential development program at a critical moment for Canadian society,” adds Annie Sabourin, the Chair of Action Canada’s Board of Directors and a 2012/13 Action Canada Fellow. “Their experiences and the relationships they build will improve their comprehension and capacity to act to become even more effectively engaged in making Canada always better.”
This year’s Action Canada Fellows are:
Amanda Affonso | Nabeel Ahmed |
Lisa Beaucage | David Campbell |
Laura Corrales | Jon Farrell |
Veronique Fournier | Sami Khan, PhD |
Grace Lee | Kaitlynne Lowe |
Dr. Kate Menzies | Sharnelle Morgan |
Sandra Peloquin | Joshua Regnier |
Jennifer Schine | Dr. Amrit Sehdev |
Dr. Kevin Wasko | Wendi Zhou, PhD |
Three exceptional mentors will support the Fellows during the course of the year. Their experience, advice and support will give the Task Forces amazing mentorship as they work on their policy projects. Action Canada is very pleased and excited to announce that former National Security Adviser Daniel Jean, serial entrepreneur Janice McDonald and arts policy expert Zainub Verjee will be mentors this year.
The Fellows will first meet virtually on June 22. Action Canada is cautiously optimistic about returning to travel for the first study tour in September. Fellows’ full biographies on the Action Canada website.
